Fireworks, Kaboom and the Wonder Why Gal too!

WOW! What an amazing weekend! First we had the Grange Fourth of July celebration on Saturday morning. I hardly had a chance to take pictures because the minute we pulled in the DJ was announcing that alpacas were at the festivities which meant we had visitors before we even had a chance to pull the boys out of the trailer. I did manage to take a few though. It was funny, while setting up I was watching the parade go by, along with Kaboom and Buddy, my alpacas. People in the parade were pointing over to the alpacas and here we were supposed to be watching them. It was too funny watching the reactions of everyone who had never seen an alpaca before and it also brought back memories of the first time that I had ever set eyes upon these wonderful creatures. Oh, my heart just swelled.
As you can see, even the alpacas were trying to watch the parade.

So the stars of the day Kaboom, my very first fiber boy who is a suri and Buddy, my youngest huacaya were super troopers during the parade and festivities because it was loud and there was a lot of commotion with the tractors, DJ, kids running around, etc.

Next we have some of the awesome Zombie Prom Date Knitters. Holly, just finishing her walk in the parade.
Carina and her son. He got a blister from the parade.

I didn't even get Shannon and crew because it was so darn insane all day long. I am sure Em is devastated, but I did get Corina's daughter trying to give my Kaboom some love. Yes, he is cute and for the right price he can be yours just ask your mom. Of course alpacas are herd animals so she'll have to buy you two but I can discuss all the details with Mom.

By 2pm my voice was so dry from the three hours of constant talk. I know, it is shocking. Really, I talk all the time and three hours that's nothing but I was having to talk over all the noise from the tractors and DJ plus I was on a constant replay explain that alpacas are not llamas, that there are two types of alpacas (suri and huacaya), that you don't want to keep a male and female together permanently, that Kaboom is three and is as large as alpacas get, oh the list went on. Oh, I didn't mind repeating myself at all. As a matter of fact, I was overjoyed at all the attention my boys and my farm were getting. I can't thank Holly or the Grange enough for allowing my to come promote my farm and more importantly the alpaca industry.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

After the Grange celebration was over we went back to the house to relax and grill out. The kids had a great time playing and apparently the twins, my nieces, hadn't had their fill of our alpacas at the Grange because they wanted to be outside in the barn the rest of the afternoon. Actually I think it was the kittens more than the alpacas but it was the barn none the less.

Once it turned dark we let my kids play with sparklers while Hubby went crazy with his fireworks display meanwhile the Sonoma Lake Association and other neighbors let their fireworks go off and it was insane. I think the fireworks were better here in East Leroy than at the Air Show. WOW!

Sunday morning didn't see the kids sleeping in like we hoped which, of course, meant that I didn't sleep in either. I made my Mickey Mouse waffles for the kids then we headed to Binder Park Zoo. I love our zoo but twice in one week with younger kids....well, it wore me out.
My kids, Emily and Joshua aka Sister Bear and Brother Bear along with their cousins, Vada and Vera aka the Ladybugs and my sister, Denise aka Lulubug.

So here we are on Sunday afternoon and I have dishes to do, laundry to do, knitting that is taunting me, dinner to make and what am I doing? Yup, sitting in front of my laptop blogging to you. Yes, I have my priorities in order. With that, I will go and try to get a few of these other things done because tomorrow starts another work week and hopefully we'll be bringing my dad home from the hospital too.

Yes, I didn't go visit Dad this time while he was in the hospital. I told he the day I admitted him that I wouldn't/couldn't because I already had plans. You see, I am always the one that visits him. Religiously! While no one else, or rarely someone else, goes to see him. Well, enough is enough! We have a large enough family and he has enough friends that someone else can make the two hour drive this time. More in likely I will be the one picking him up plus I am the one cleaning his house and such this time. Not to say that my siblings don't help because they do but Gee whiz! So, my Dad's sisters are visiting him today. Finally, someone that isn't his middle child making the drive to Detroit.

Ok,.....Now I am on a totally different tangent.
