Root Tootin', it's Fiber Fest week at the Allegan County Fairground where I have been camping with my friends, Nancee Ludwick (4 Musketeers Alpaca), Sharon Davis (Lake Front Alpaca) and Melissa Powers (Lissabeth Alpacas). Oh, there were a couple of husbands too (sorry, I didn't forget you Jim and Mike) but you know that this group of Alpaca ladies are going to bring an awesome to the festival that only Alpaca people can bring.
So far this week I have learned how to felt hats which I totally love. Really! It is so rock star being a hat making and I now know how to "Don" a hat. Yup, I love making hats so much that I promised Holly B that I would make her one too because Awesome needs an Awesome Hat!
My second day was a day about felting shawls. It was a lot of fun and my creation was amazing but...I will post more details later on that one. You see, the fairgrounds don't have Wi-Fi and I need lots of internet to upload the pictures because the cursed Blackberry won't let me blog. So today I will leave you with some photos of me! Yes, Me! Me! Me! Can you guess which hat I made? No, you don't get a prize other than the fact that you guess correctly. When I get home I will post all of my new creations and tell you about the amazing people I met and the phenomenal instructors.
So, share you adventures in Fiber Arts. I promise that I will visit your blog but not until I return to the farm. Oh, do you want to know where I'm at right now....McDonalds. It's a few miles from the fairgrounds so I got up extra early to share the Wonder of Fiber Fest with you, my friends. Have a great week and if you are in the area, stop by the Animal Barn Saturday and Sunday and visit my Farm Display.

Great hat! Happy camping.
ReplyDeleteNice hat! I can't wait to see you tomorrow...I keep thinking about that beautiful fiber in your Etsy shop and I'm hoping that the ones I want will be with you tomorrow. Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great weekend! Sounds like it has already been an awesome festival - Keep selling that yarn out of your trunk :)
ReplyDeleteHey I will stop by and see you tomorrow. I cannot wait to be surrounded by fiber! Tamara
ReplyDeleteFiber heaven indeed! Love the hats! I haven't felted in a while, and now that my current apartment has a front loading machine, I don't know if I should give hand-felting a try.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see that shawl.
The last hat was my creation. The first two were made by my instructor, Suzanne Higgs. Check out her blog because that lady has Rock Star talent!
