Fiber Arts Friday - Nerd Wars and Give Away

Welcome to Fiber Arts Friday!  Another wonderful week full of Fiber Arts love.  I finished my first cabled project.  HOORAY!  My hat is super awesome.  I am really pleased with how it turned out.  Now I am ready to start knitting my next pattern with cables.  I used this hat for the Nerd Culture Challenge in Nerd Wars.  This month's challenge was Best Dressed and I know this hat totally creates the Best Dressed Look.

I have one more project to complete before Monday to complete my October challenges in the Nerd Wars Tournament and I'm over halfway done.  I do like that Nerd Wars is helping me complete projects by creating deadlines.  I have quite a few projects that I must complete before the holidays so this is very good.

Now, somewhere in the midst of sharing all of my Fiber Arts Fun, I have met many amazing Fiber Artists and Bloggers.  I have received a lot of wonderful gifts (which I try to post and share when I get them) using all forms of Fiber Arts.  It's been a long time since I've had a give-away so...today will be the day.  To share in the celebration of Halloween (because I really do love the fun of the holiday), I am going to give away a skein of my handspun yarn.  Yup!  You read that right.  360 Yards of my Suri Alpaca blended with Blue Faced Leicester and Silk all processed by yours truly.  You know you want it!  All you have to do is leave a comment.  I will draw a name before next Friday then post the winner.  It's that simple.  Thank you to everyone who shares their Fiber Arts Adventures here weekly.  I love my TGIFAF (Thank Goodness It's Fiber Arts Friday)   Now...share your adventures in Fiber Arts.

  5. The finished hat looks amazing, love it. I bet it is so warm and snuggly too. The cables look fab ;) Best dressed indeed.

I've admired your handspun since I first came across your blog, and those are my colours, so I am crossing my fingers. I've never tried any handspun before (because I'll invariably fall in love and want to take up spinning!)

  6. Yum, your hat makes me think of raspberry sherbet. Love the cables! It was so nice to see you on Saturday and it was such a relief to have my beautiful batt arrive with Emily on Wednesday night. Thanks for helping it find it's way home. You won my contest from last week so I need a color-ish preference and I'll get your prize on it's way. Have a great week, and congratulations on making such a pretty hat.

  13. YOU are super awesome! Beautiful job on the cabled hat. I have done a hat or two with cables and was thinking of doing something on a larger scale. I have been eyeing the Beatnik sweater on Knitty, but I think it might be too intimidating. But, I might just practice and see if I can do it. I do love a challenge and am ready for more interesting knitting.

Thanks for sharing your talent and having such a great giveaway.

    I love Fiber Arts Fridays!

  14. Awesome hat and super amazing generous giveaway!

Now i must confess that last week I had added so many great blogs to my reader that I was totally behind and never made it to reading and commenting all of the FAF blogs specifically. But this week I have a new and improved plan. Start here, then the reader. Yay!

  17. Congrats on the hat ... and conquering the not-really-so-imposing knit cables! I must admit, knit cables are some of my favs, and your hat shows them off very well. I think it's time for another session with sister bear behind the camera.

Whoever wins that skein is gonna be a real happy camper!

  24. Super cables, your title of "I want to do bad things" for it on Ravelry makes me sing the song "I want to be evil" by Eartha Kitt every time I see it= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQ5VaBgXzuM
