Fiber Arts Friday - Turning my wheels

Welcome to Fiber Arts Friday!  Knit, Spin, Weave, Felt, Crochet, Dye...FIBER ARTS!  Each week Fiber Artists from all over the world share their adventures so what are you waiting for?  Join in!

The last two weeks, I have been spending my evenings spinning (especially since my lace scarf was put in time out).  Last Saturday I met with my weaving/spinning group for an afternoon of fun.  I got into a major spinning groove then spent the next few days filling all of my bobbins.  Having an extra day off of work really added to the spinning time.  The result...lots of beautiful Alpaca blend yarns.

My scarf is fixed now thanks to KellyJ so...I will attempt to stay away from my spinning wheel and finish the scarf for my friend. I am still very confused with fixing a dropped stitch when YO are in involved and no knit rows but I know as I continue to knit and become more comfortable with various patterns, I will get it.

I have been spending time with my Jacey Boggs Spin Art book and DVD.  I really am digging how she demonstrates and explains the various Textured Yarn techniques.  Now, share your adventures in Fiber Arts.

  2. Ooo, pretty yarn. Did you realize how much you missed spinning? Last weekend was the first time I've spun in several weeks and it was such a pleasure. I sometimes wonder why we let ourselves get so distracted and then I look around and see all the pretty things I have to work on...it's a dilemma for sure! Have a great weekend Andrea!

  7. It is easy to get distracted by other fiber activities and work. Too much to do and not enough time. Glad you got to get some spinning in. Great texture and color pattern in your yarn. Well worth the weekend spent spinning.

  17. Beautiful yarns as always! I find that I learn the most about knitting when I fix mistakes. Life lessons, huh ;-)

  21. Beautiful ... the last one, the sort of black with different colors, is vibrant and understated at the same time. Lovely!

  22. Oh my, all that yarn looks wonderful. Must. Convince. Myself. That I only want to knit with it. Not learn to spin it!

  23. Wow the yarn looks fantastic!

  24. Beautiful yarn! I especially love the one on the left. Fixing mistakes on lace is no fun, that is why I always have a life line every few rows for a complicated pattern.
