I am still plugging away knitting my La Vitre Scarf. How is it that I don't think twice about knitting a huge cowl or a bunch of hats but with a smaller amount of yarn, I get overwhelmed with a scarf? It's going to be a beautiful scarf once it's finished. I knit another six inches or so this week. I've decided not to take it to work because apparently I make mistakes when I talk and knit while working on a pattern that has YO.I am also wondering if I should have went up a needle size. The pattern called for fingering weight Alpaca and I am using a squishy sport weight Merino. It will be beautiful but won't have quite the same look as the pattern called for. Another reason to swatch for gauge. One of these days I will learn.

It's very pretty.
ReplyDeleteIt's really nice! I'm seriously anti-gauge swatch, too. I know I should do it, I just hate it. Ugh. ;)
ReplyDeleteMaybe because it requires your undivided attention? That would put it on my back burner straight away! It's so lovely though!
ReplyDeleteI'm much more motivated with larger projects too. Your scarf is beautiful though, the colors are working up wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful :) I can't imagine swatching for a scarf even I was a diligent swatcher!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful, i wouldn't worry about the gauge being wrong if I were you.
ReplyDeleteI have the same issue with YOs and talking. :-)
ReplyDeleteI really like how the yarn is showing a zig zag... very cool.
Your scarf is looking great. I have the same problem with YO's, I wonder what it is about them........
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely. I'm not too much of a fan of swatching, so I'm no help in getting you to. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the way it is patterning, but have to agree that I can only knit and talk if it is something very simple
ReplyDeleteGauge swatchin' or not, that scarf is gorgeous---the way the yarn is working up makes it look almost reptilian and alive. I love it.
ReplyDeleteIts no matter if it matches the look of the pattern or not so long at it is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe colors of that scarf are so pretty. It's going to be gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIt is looking great! The good thing about making scarves is that gauge isn't as important and that they can be worn in so many ways. Love that color.
ReplyDeleteJust wait - blocking is magic. :)
