Welcome to Fiber Arts Friday! What a crazy week. Our temperatures went from 2 degrees to 60 degrees then back to 14 degrees in one day. All the seasons of weather in 24 hours. That is just wicked. As I was finishing my scarf, I was excited about getting some photos of it with the mild temperatures but I didn't finish it until yesterday morning before work. The after work photos had me outdoors in the snow...and it was cold!

Regardless of the weather, my newest scarf is finished. The warp is my Alpaca yarn in fingering weight and the weft is 100% Silk. I am very pleased with how it turned out. It's very soft and drapes beautifully. Alpaca and Silk are are beautiful mix.
I have a couple of other projects I'm working on but they are for a "super seekrit swap" so I can't share the details until my spoilee gets her gift. Now, share your adventures in Fiber Arts!

Alpaca and Silk. Could it get any better?
ReplyDeleteI cannot imagine temperatures like that! Your scarf is beautiful, you have really made some beautiful woven pieces!
ReplyDeleteI love how you said wicked ;) The scarf if gorgeous! It looks so soft and smooshy!
ReplyDeleteAre you snowed in now? Look at this photo! You need something warm and cosy to wrap around your neck, I'm sure. Have a nice weekend. Regula
ReplyDeleteThe weather you were having sounds just like Melbourne! Beautiful scarf, as always!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness girl.....that scarf is beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteOoo, your scarf reminds me of ribbon candy at Christmas time. Hope you're not buried in snow down there now. I do prefer the white to the grey dreary that we had earlier in the week though. Happy Fiber Arts Friday!
ReplyDeleteI was going to say the same thing as AllyB, about the ribbon candy. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteWe had crazy temps here too in NY, but not all in the same day.
Can't believe it's February already.
Have a great weekend!
It's gorgeous, Andrea, and I can just imagine the feel of it against your skin! XXO-
ReplyDeleteAs always, in awe of your weaving!! I must ask a friend if I can borrow her loom to see if I can do it myself.
ReplyDeleteThe snow is beautiful as is the scarf. I agree that alpaca and silk are perfect for each other.
ReplyDeleteWe've had the same wide temperature swings, but not in the same day. Crazy.
Alpaca and silk, what a luxury! The scarf must feel so good in the cold. The snow is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI do think alpaca + silk is one of my favorite fiber combos, and your scarve is gorgeous, as are all of your weaving projects.
ReplyDeleteAnd that snow! I want that snow! Just for a day, please? :)
Your scarf is beautiful, the fibre mix sounds heavenly and I just lvoe the colour combination you chose
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mix indeed! Love the way you arranged the stripes on the warp. And that's impressive weather you're having.
