Golden Goose Egg?

Our beautiful goose Wonder has started to lay eggs.  It's hard to believe that the little gosling (not chick) we got last Spring is already producing Eggs of Wonder.  Until yesterday, I had never had a Goose Egg to eat.  It was good.

Now I don't have a store bought egg for comparison but here is the size difference between the Goose Egg and a Farm Fresh Chicken egg.  Goose Eggs are supposed to be about the size of 2 1/2 Chicken Eggs.  I'd agree with that.

Look at the yolk!  Oh my!

I couldn't get over how white the eggs were compared to the Chicken egg...and the fact that my beautiful goose isn't laying the golden eggs I had hoped for ;-)

Maybe I just need to have her lay a few more eggs?

  1. I've never had a goose egg - does it taste the same?

And look at the snow beneath the poor goose's frozen webbed feet. :)

    1. I'd say the eggs were a bit "sweeter". I nice difference. I've been looking up recipes for goose eggs and most of them originate in the UK.
